Life drawing is the process of drawing from the human form. During this studio session time, artists will have an opportunity to practice figurative drawing basics like scale, shape and proportion as well as gesture and emotion working from a live clothed model. The model will start the session with a series of short warm-up poses and work up to longer poses. Each pose will provide an opportunity for inspiration and practice. Attendees should bring their own drawing supplies, easels and, if you’d like, a cushion for a chair. All levels of artists are welcome. Appropriate for ages 14 up. However children 14 - 18 must be accompanied by an adult. This event will be moderated by Madrone Arts founding member Shannon Webb. Preregister to secure your seat: workshops@madronearts.com.

The Art in Community series is specifically designed for seniors (60+) from the Pescadero-La Honda-San Gregorio-Loma Mar area who are interested in exploring their creativity and making new friends. With experienced artists as your guide, you will be able to create a work of art with step-by-step instructions while meeting new people, enjoying great conversation and having fun in a high-spirited 2.5-hour art class. Jeweler Wesley Barrow leads this class focused on artistic free expression. With lots of vintage jewelry and trinkets to choose from, this workshop offers an opportunity for each participant to create their own special treasure box. Learn how to use recycled materials and create something beautiful. 

All materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring a few personal items to make their treasure box uniquely theirs.
