A community hub in the heart of the South Coast
at the historic Loma Mar Store
We’re back in business and excited to make 2026 a year of embracing great food, opportunities, resilience and community connections here on the South Coast. We hope you’ll join us as we launch new projects (like our Pay-It-Forward campaign), host more events, fill our shelves with local goods and goodies, and spotlight the people in our community that make it such a special place to live, work and visit.
We hope you’ll stop by soon — and come back again as we continue to grow, expand and work to fulfill our mission to support a thriving South Coast.
to the Outpost, a community resource hub in the heart of the San Mateo County South Coast.
We’re here to serve —great food, good times, and the needs of our dynamic community.
Our home is the historic Loma Mar Store, where you’ll always find the friendly staff, memorable music and delicious food you’ve come to expect, but now we’re also offering programs, projects and workshops that expand our outreach and better support those who live in and love our beautiful “gem in the redwoods” and the surrounding “slow coast.”
The Outpost aims to be a cornerstone for community empowerment, where everyone feels welcome and engaged in the collective effort to enhance the wellbeing of our rural region.
Community-driven and guided by a dedicated board and staff, the Outpost is sustained by mission-supporting sales, grants, and donations. This will ensure that we continue to provide a welcoming gathering space for all while promoting healthy food, emergency preparedness, educational and economic opportunities, and community connections.
Welcome!
